Stanley L. Sclove,
a statistician,
is Professor
of Information &
Decision Sciences in the College of Business Administration at the
University
of Illinois at Chicago.
In the Department, he is Chair of
the Committee on Statistics and currently a member of the Advisory Committee.
In the College, he is
Coordinator of the
Business Statistics Area-of-Inquiry
of the
PhD Program in Business Administration.
Sclove has appointments also in the Division
of Epidemiology & Biostatistics (School of Public Health), the Department
of Mathematics, Statistics & Computer Science (College of Liberal Arts
& Sciences), and the Department of Bioengineering (College of Engineering).
Sclove is a graduate of
Dartmouth
College (A.B., Applied Honors Mathematics) and
Columbia University (Ph.D., Mathematical
Statistics).
He has published a number of research
papers in statistical and scientific journals and has
written or
co-authored several
books.
His
professional experience
includes research, consulting, and teaching.
He was nominated for UIC's Silver Circle Teaching Award in 1994.
Sclove
is a member
of a number of professional societies and
has held offices
in several. He was Secretary/Treasurer of the Classification Society (formerly Classification Society of North America), 1997-2013.
He was a member of the Finance Committee of the International Federation of Classification Societies (2009-2011).
In the American Statistical Association he is
the Risk Analysis Section's
Representative to the ASA Council of Sections (2008-2010, 2011-2013).
